Talks on Activating Free Trade Agreement Between GCC and Vietnam

Doha: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Hang engaged in discussions about the latest developments regarding the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two entities.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also focused on enhancing GCC-Vietnam cooperation in areas and priorities of mutual interest, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the GCC and Vietnam in 2023. The discussions took place on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha.

Both parties expressed their eagerness to strengthen GCC-Vietnam relations and establish a strategic partnership. Additionally, the discussions covered recent regional and international developments, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing their collaborative efforts.
