Tunisia-Team Qatar claimed 7 medals at 2021 Arab Athletics Championships held in Tunisia for 4 days with participation of 20 countries.
Qatar’s Femi Ogunode won the gold medal of 100m event last Thursday, clocking 10.19 secs. Qatar also won a silver medal in the event through Femi's brother Tosin.
Femi Ogunode added the 200m gold to his 100m title at the Arab Championships on Sunday. He clocked 20.59 secs in the 200m.
Ashraf Al Saifi clinched the silver medal, clearing a distance of 71.30m in hammer throw while Yasser Salem Baghrab won the bronze medal of 3,000m steeplechase event.
Ashraf Hussain took the silver medal of 400m hurdles event while Hamdi al-Amin won a silver medal after clearing 2.16m in the men’s high jump event.
Team Qatar finished the championships in seventh place while Morocco led the standings with 31 medals.
