The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) announced the readiness of the telecommunications sector for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and indicated that the number of telecom towers reached 2998, while the number of 5G communications towers reached 2515.
CRA said, through its official account on Twitter, that the numbers allocated to telecom companies amounted to 2.6 million mobile phones and 37000 landline phones, pointing out that the average download speeds for the Internet is170Mbps.
It also added that the regulatory frameworks and initiatives issued from its side include the World Cup Spectrum Plan, electronic registration procedures for telecom services, an information dashboard for key performance indicators for mobile services, in addition to smart solutions to monitor, track, and analyze the data of mobile service quality.
