The Chairman of the Investment Commission discusses with the Iraqi ambassadors to China, Japan and South Korea the elements of a successful economic partnership

Baghdad -The Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Haider Muhammad Makiya, met today with the Iraqi ambassadors to China, South Korea, and Japan, in the presence of the Vice President of the Commission, and a number of general directors, and discussed the elements of the successful economic partnership between Iraq and East Asian countries.

The head of the commission, according to a statement from his office, discussed the role of the investment sector in developing the economy of countries and states, including Iraq, and introducing strategic opportunities in the vital sectors of industry, agriculture, housing, and electric power generation.

Makiya stressed that Iraq is looking forward to the levels of effective economic and investment cooperation on the scale of major companies and foreign businessmen, indicating the commission's policy, which requires expanding regional and international transactions to enhance the factor of confidence in the Iraqi investment environment and diversify it.

He explained: “The work programs prepared to develop the reality of investment will adopt joint mechanisms with developed countries in East Asia and various countries in the fields of investment and business, through the implementation of memorandums of understanding, specialized courses and scientific preparation for the commission's members, as well as participating in holding seminars and workshops related to feasibility studies, designs, and others.

For their part, the ambassadors welcomed the initiative of the Chairman of the National Investment Commission and holding the joint meeting to explain the dimensions of future cooperation in the context of investment projects and strengthen partnership paths in the countries of China, South Korea and Japan.
