The Commander-in-Chief directs the establishment of a scientific and training academy for intelligence work

The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, directed today, Saturday, to conduct a specialized study on the possibility of establishing a scientific and training academy for intelligence work. A statement from his media office stated that the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired, today, Saturday, a meeting of the National Intelligence Council, during which a number of security files and topics related to intelligence work and the plans followed in this framework were discussed. According to the statement, the meeting witnessed a presentation of the latest developments in security and intelligence work, according to the categories of responsibility, as Al-Sudani listened to a comprehensive assessment of the readiness and performance of the security and intelligence services, and the tasks and duties they undertake related to the security of Iraq and the safety of its lands, as well as the map of security work in th e field of pre-emptive measures, and plans prepared in advance to confront any potential security threats or breaches.' During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of close cooperation between security and intelligence agencies and services, managing the handling of information in an optimal manner, working as a single cell, and distributing intelligence work fields, stressing ensuring the requirements for setting general policies in intelligence work, and updating them according to the latest developments in the field. Al-Sudani also directed the importance of following up on terrorist and extremist groups, and monitoring any movement or activity targeting social peace, especially after the successes achieved by our armed forces, with all their types, in destroying these networks and paralyzing their capabilities. Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, the necessity of employing directorates for work areas in order to develop accurate perceptions of risks and their conclusions, and to d evelop national security reports periodically, to cover any potential threats, moving locally, regionally or internationally, in addition to the importance of developing individual competencies and capabilities of intelligence elements, in a way that serves the development of field work.' Al-Sudani also directed that a specialized study be conducted on the possibility of establishing a scientific and training academy for intelligence work to raise capabilities, and strengthen the ability of the state's security and intelligence services to collect and analyze information, as well as raise the capabilities of dealing with cyber threats, as they are the most dangerous enemy of the intelligence services.
