The Egyptian Journalists Syndicate provides important services to Gaza journalists

Gaza - Together - The Council of the Journalists Syndicate, during its meeting chaired by Khaled Al-Balshi, Chairman of the Syndicate of Journalists, expressed its adoption of the demands sent by Palestinian journalist colleagues in the Gaza Strip to the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate on the occasion of the anniversary of Palestinian Land Day on March 30, and the passage of 6 months since the war of extermination and starvation, carried out by the aggression. The Council of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate had received a message carried by a number of Palestinian journalists, who participated in the annual breakfast of the Syndicate, which coincided with the eighty-third anniversary of the founding of the Egyptian Syndicate, and the forty-eighth anniversary of Palestinian Land Day, and the Council decided during its meeting yesterday to adopt all of the demands contained therein. .

More than 30 Palestinian journalist colleagues participated in the Solidarity Day, which was held by the Syndicate on the occasion of Land Day. The colleagues participating in the conference and the Solidarity Day thanked the Egyptian state for its support of the Palestinian cause, facilitating their entry into Egypt and treating the injured, and called on the Egyptian state agencies to intensify efforts to facilitate the transfer and treatment of those injured. Wounded female and male journalists, or those suffering from incurable diseases, assistance in treating their families, facilitating entry, registering and accommodating the children of Gazan journalists in Egyptian schools and universities, as well as facilitating the renewal of residency for journalists who were received and their families.

The Journalists Syndicate Council affirmed that while it appreciates the efforts of the Egyptian state in facilitating the entry of a number of injured colleagues to receive treatment in Egypt, some of whom participated in the solidarity conference on the occasion of Earth Day, it calls on it to adopt the demands contained in the colleagues' letter, as well as to help expedite the transfer of dozens of injured journalists who came forward. Requests during the recent period to cross through the Rafah crossing to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

During its meeting, the Journalists Syndicate Council stressed its adoption of all the demands raised by fellow journalists in Gaza, saluting the Palestinian people, their legendary steadfastness, and the more than 33,000 Palestinian martyrs who rose during 6 months of the Zionist-Nazi aggression against the Palestinian people, including nearly 140 martyrs who were journalists. They provided an example of the ability of the free press to express the hopes and aspirations of peoples and achieve victory for nations.

The Council affirmed that it is in the process of taking the necessary measures to achieve everything stated in the letter of colleagues in Gaza, and to grant them all the benefits and services that an Egyptian journalist enjoys, given that Egyptian and Palestinian journalists are brothers in blood, Arabism, and humanity. The Council also decided to intensify efforts to try Zionist war criminals before the courts. The International Criminal Court, calling for the necessity of effective action to stop this brutal aggression and war of extermination and starvation, which the occupation army is practicing against our people in Palestine.

The Council called on all concerned parties, as well as fellow journalists, to help achieve these demands contained in the letter.

A message from the journalists of Palestine/Gaza Strip

to the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate.

1- Coordination with the sovereign authorities in Egypt to facilitate the movement and travel of journalists at the Rafah border crossing in both directions, through your esteemed union, with the names of members of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, and journalists who do not have membership, and on the recommendation of members of the union with known reputation in your esteemed union.

2- Facilitating the exit and treatment of wounded journalists or those suffering from incurable diseases, and assisting in the treatment of their families.

3- Working to facilitate the entry, registration and absorption of children of Gazan journalists into Egyptian schools and universities to save what can be saved from their educational year, given that Palestinian journalists are too busy with media coverage to follow up on their children.

4- Helping journalists and their families obtain temporary residency after the expiration of the month, which cannot be renewed.

5- Providing work stations for journalists who have arrived in Egypt - they are not required to work in Egyptian media -, but many of them continue their work from outside Gaza.

6- Coordinating with local institutions that provide assistance to journalists to bring aid to the sector targeting journalists, and facilitating the entry of some equipment necessary for media coverage, and professional safety such as shields and power banks, and devices to capture the Internet signal from Egyptian SIM cards for ease of communication, and sending information to local and international agencies in the event of a communications interruption during Aggression and other things that are required to facilitate the journalist's task of transmitting news.

7- List the names of Palestinian media colleagues working in the Gaza Strip, coordinate with international organizations, and work to include them within international journalistic institutions such as the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Foreign Journalists, and other United Nations institutions concerned with the rights of journalists, such as the Human Rights Group for Journalists.

8- Granting honorary membership in the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate to the permanent members of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate from Gaza, and granting them all the benefits and services that an Egyptian journalist enjoys, given that Egyptian and Palestinian journalists are brothers in blood and Arabism.

9- Arranging and organizing campaigns to protect journalists from intentional killing, and working with other unions to prosecute the occupation in international courts.
