A huge fire broke out on the roof of the historic stock exchange building in Copenhagen, leading to the collapse of the iconic tower of the building, which is considered one of the oldest buildings in the city, dating back to the year 1625. According to media, a large area in downtown Copenhagen was closed after the fire broke out on the stock exchange. Michael Andersen, the duty officer, told Danish Radio that the tower, which is famous for its spiral design, collapsed before eight in the morning. The police in Copenhagen indicated that they had closed the streets of Borsgade, Knebelsbrough, and Strandgade, calling on people to avoid heading to the city center unless absolutely necessary.
