The first Israeli comment on the assassination of Haniyeh

Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu commented on Wednesday on the announcement of the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran. Eliyahu, who belongs to the "Otzma Yehudit" party led by Itamar Ben Gvir, said, "This is the right way to clear the world," adding, "No more fake surrender agreements and no more mercy for those sentenced to death." Eliyahu said, "Haniyeh's death makes the world a little better." Hamas announced today, Wednesday, the assassination of its political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in an Israeli raid on his residence in Tehran. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said that "we are studying the dimensions of the incident of Haniyeh's martyrdom in Tehran and will announce the results of the investigation later." It is worth noting that Eliyahu is the one who came up with the theory of targeting Gaza with a 'nuclear bomb,' as he said on November 5, 2023, to an Israeli radio station that bombing the Gaza Strip with a nuclear bomb is one of the acceptable options in his opinion.
