The Foreign Minister discusses with the Turkish Ambassador Ankara’s contribution to the development path project and the file of shared water

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, Ali Reza Konay.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, aspects of cooperation between Baghdad and Ankara were reviewed, and ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations, in a way that serves the interest of the two friendly peoples.

The two sides discussed the upcoming visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Baghdad in the second half of this month, as well as discussing Turkey's contribution to the development path project along with the rest of the neighboring countries, and the file of shared water.

The Minister stressed that the Iraqi government is aiming to create an attractive environment for foreign investment, and to provide ways to develop promising investment opportunities for foreign companies to invest in Iraq, noting that Turkish companies have played an important role in the construction process in Iraq.

For his part, the Turkish Ambassador affirmed his country's desire to resolve outstanding issues between the two countries, adding; The coming period will witness a quantum leap in the development of relations between the two countries.
