The Mayor of Baghdad confirms the progress of implementation of the Baghdad Metro project according to the timings set for it

The Mayor of Baghdad, Engineer Ammar Musa Kadhem, confirmed the strong progress to implement the Baghdad Metro project according to the timings set for it within a comprehensive government vision to develop public transportation in the capital, Baghdad. He said in a press conference held at the headquarters of the National Investment Authority, 'There are 3 international companies that submitted their offers for this project, and all their inquiries were answered, and the date of next May 12 was set as the date for the final submission of technical and commercial offers by these companies, to be studied in detail by the specialized team that was formed for this purpose in cooperation with the advisory body with which it was agreed.' He added, "The Iraqi government, headed by the Prime Minister, is proceeding vigorously to implement this project according to the timings that were set for it," stressing that "the Baghdad Metro project is one of the important transportation projects in the capital, Baghdad, an d it complements the vision of comprehensive transportation in the city of Baghdad, along with projects to relieve traffic congestion and the ring roads that the government is completing in accordance with its comprehensive vision for public transportation in the capital, Baghdad.
