The Minister of Communications chairs a meeting of the Supreme Committee to Reduce Hate Speech

Today, Wednesday, Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri, chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee to Reduce Hate Speech at the Ministry's headquarters, in the presence of representatives of the relevant ministries and government agencies. The Minister instructed to complete the committee's work procedures and discuss the draft national strategy to reduce hate speech, which was prepared by the Supreme Committee, to identify effective mechanisms and means to combat hate speech and promote a culture of tolerance and respect among the various components of society. According to a statement by the Ministry of Communications, a number of important observations were discussed at the meeting by members of the committee, emphasizing the necessity of issuing legal legislation related to reducing hate speech, as an important step to strengthen societal peace and create a safe environment free of violence and extremism in all its forms.
