The Minister of Transport Discusses Developments In The File Of Lifting The European Ban On The National Carrier With The Relevant Committee

The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, held, today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the General Company for Iraqi Airlines, the regular meeting of the committee following up on the file of lifting the European embargo on the national carrier ( Iraqi Airways).

A statement by the Ministry of Transport stated: “The meeting was held in the presence of the members of the committee, the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Border Ports, Customs and Transport Affairs, Lieutenant General Sami Abdel Hussein Radi, the First Secretary Ahmed Mohsen, Head of the European Union and NATO Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Assistant Head of the Legal Adviser Department of the Office of Foreign Affairs of Prime Minister Hassanein Fuad, and Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Airlines, Manaf Abdel Moneim.

During the meeting, the most prominent developments in lifting the European embargo and files related to the implementation of the decisions of the government program for developing Iraqi air transport were discussed.

The members of the committee confirmed that they are following the procedures to lift the European ban on the national air carrier, by applying all international standards and requirements, ensuring that the green bird is returned to the European skies again.

At the conclusion of the meeting, several decisions were issued, most notably the continuation of holding periodic meetings, provided that all recommendations are submitted to the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, for detailed review.
