The head of the Legal Department, the legal lieutenant, Khaled Jabbar Ismail Al-Lami, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to put the final touches to the memorandum of understanding scheduled to be signed between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Saudi Ministry of Defense. The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement, "The delegation was received by the Saudi Undersecretary of Defense for Strategic Affairs, Al-Hassan Al-Hafzi, and a number of specialists in legal affairs." The statement added, "The two sides held a number of meetings regarding the memorandum of understanding to put the final touches to it before signing it, indicating that the head of the legal department conveyed to the Saudi side the greetings of the Minister of Defense and his desire to sign the memorandum of understanding as soon as possible."
