The Ministry of Planning discusses with the USAID the technical details related to the executive agreement for the Development Goals Grant

Baghdad, The Ministry of Planning held today, Tuesday, a joint meeting with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), during which the technical details of the executive agreement signed between the two sides related to development goals were discussed, to support development efforts in all governorates of Iraq. Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Saher Abdel Kazem Mahdi, said in a statement: 'The Ministry is continuing to activate the executive agreement with the American agency, in light of the development witnessed by bilateral relations between the two countries, in accordance with common interests in many fields, most notably development aspects.' He added, "The meeting came to discuss the technical details of a number of basic ongoing programs in Iraq. In addition to discussing how to organize and coordinate efforts between the two sides, clarify the support provided by the agency, and coordinate procedures according to government contexts. He pointed out that the executive agreement focuses on three main areas of cooperation, which are to promote accelerated economic growth, as well as enhance citizens' confidence in the state and governance, and meet the needs of vulnerable groups. The meeting was attended by the Financial Officer of the Development Agency for Iraq and the Middle East, and the Director of Development Affairs at the United States Agency for Development, John Ezell, as well as representatives of the Council of Advisors and the Ministry of Finance.
