Gaza - Ma'an - The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Israeli army is launching large-scale attacks in the town of Al-Mughraqa, north of Al-Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip. The newspaper pointed out that residents of the Gaza envelope settlements reported hearing huge explosions coming from the Palestinian sector. Press sources reported that the Israeli army forces are carrying out extensive bombing operations in residential buildings in the town of Al-Maghraqa in the central Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza announced, "Two people were killed and others were injured as a result of an Israeli bombardment of a populated house belonging to the Harb family in Block C in Nuseirat," also indicating that "some people were injured as a result of an Israeli bombardment of a house belonging to the Farajallah family in the vicinity of Fayyad roundabout in the new camp in Nuseirat." The Civil Defense explained that "as a result of Israeli shelling of a house belonging to the Jarg houn family in the Al-Nasr neighborhood north of Rafah city, 4 people were killed, and others were injured as a result of artillery shelling of the Bardawil area on the beach west of Rafah governorate, amidst continuous shelling and bombing of residential buildings north of the city." In a related context, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday, called for an immediate halt to the killing of Palestinian civilians using American weapons, stressing that this is an "unprecedented form of humanitarian disaster." The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that it is necessary to ensure the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip and the reconstruction of its infrastructure, and before that to ensure the realization of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
