The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of developing relations between Iraq and Morocco and the necessity of working to strengthen them in various fields. A presidential statement stated that the President of the Republic received, today, Wednesday, at his residence in the Kingdom of Bahrain, on the sidelines of the thirty-third Arab Summit, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, Aziz Akhannouch. At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Aziz Akhannouch conveyed the greetings and appreciation of King Mohammed VI to the President of the Republic, while the President sent his greetings and appreciation to the King, and the meeting discussed bilateral relations and the general situation in the region. According to the statement, Rashid stressed the importance of developing relations between Iraq and Morocco and the necessity of working to strengthen them in various fields in order to achieve the common interests of th e two brotherly peoples, noting that Iraq looks forward to more cooperation and joint coordination in various issues on the regional and international arenas, in addition to cooperation in the economic and cultural fields." The President pointed out that the region is facing a number of crises that must be resolved through dialogue and continued consultations and meetings in a way that achieves the common interests of the peoples of the region. According to the statement, the President of the Republic pointed out the sinful aggression against the brotherly Palestinian people, noting the necessity of immediately stopping the war in the Gaza Strip, preventing its expansion, and working to provide relief to the Palestinian people.
