The President of the Republic Stresses The Need To Strengthen Cultural, Tourism, Educational And Service Programs With Armenia

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the necessity of strengthening cultural, tourism, educational and service programs with Armenia.

The Presidential Media Office said in a statement, “The President of the Republic received, today, Tuesday, at Baghdad Palace, the Armenian Minister of Economy, Vahan Keropian, and his accompanying delegation.”

The statement added, "During the meeting, bilateral relations between Iraq and Armenia and ways to strengthen them were discussed, as the President affirmed that Iraq has achieved positive developments in the field of security and stability and there is an improvement in the economic and service situation, especially after the approval of the budget, as well as encouraging investment opportunities in the agricultural and infrastructure sectors.

Rashid stressed the need to increase flights between the two countries to include the governorates as well, and to benefit from "Study in Iraq" program to enhance the cultural and educational aspects between Iraq and Armenia, pointing to the importance of cooperation and benefiting from experiences in Armenia in the field of light industries, water management and modern irrigation methods.

The statement indicated, "The meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Al-Olayawi, touched on the work of the technical committees between the two countries and the importance of supporting their decisions in order to reach concrete practical steps to increase cooperation in the agricultural and tourism fields, renewable energy, and modern irrigation methods."

For his part, the Armenian Minister of Economy expressed his thanks to the President for his interest in developing relations between the two countries, stressing Armenia’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with the Iraqi government in the fields of electricity, agriculture, and solar energy in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries./End
