The President Receives The Iranian Ambassador And Stresses The Necessity Of Iraq’s Right To Protect Its Security And Sovereignty From Violations And Breaches

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received, today, Wednesday, at Baghdad Palace, the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, where they discussed bilateral relations and developments in the region.

According to a presidential statement, the President stressed the need for joint coordination and cooperation in files and issues of common interest in a way that achieves security and stability and enhances the chances of peace in the region.

The President referred to the security agreement signed between the two countries and its importance in consolidating the security of the common borders, indicating that the agreement embodies Iraq’s position rejecting Iraqi territory as a launching pad for aggression against any of the neighboring countries, and stressing in this regard the necessity of Iraq’s right to protect its security and sovereignty from violations and breaches that It affects Iraqi cities, especially in the Kurdistan region.

For his part, Ambassador Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq affirmed the Islamic Republic’s aspiration to strengthen cooperation and coordination with Iraq in various fields, and to support security and stability for the Iraqi people.
