The new Turkish Minister of Defense, Yasar Guler, announced that his country and Iraq will enhance joint cooperation in combating terrorism, and "will eventually reap positive results."
Guler said in a press statement during his hosting today at the headquarters of the Turkish parliament in Ankara that his country continues to combat terrorism "with an increasing pace and firmness, and that there will be joint cooperation with Iraq in confronting terrorism in the coming days, and the two countries will reap positive results at the end of this cooperation."
Regarding Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's meeting with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, in Ankara yesterday, and its impact on the fight against terrorism, Guler said: "Of course it has a positive effect and we will strengthen our cooperation with Iraq, and we will get positive results at the end of this cooperation."
Yesterday, the Turkish President and Barzani held a closed meeting in Ankara, in the presence of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
