To implement settlement construction – bulldozing and uprooting of trees on the land of the Alian family in Beit Safafa

Jerusalem - Ma'an - Today, Tuesday, the occupation bulldozers leveled the land of the Alian family in the village of Beit Safafa, to implement a settlement construction on the land. A family told Ma'an that the occupation bulldozers, accompanied by forces, stormed the family's land and began demolishing a stone wall, bulldozing and uprooting trees, in preparation for construction work in the area. The Alian family members confronted the bulldozing and demolition operations, and one of its members, Ahmed Alian, was injured while confronting the bulldozer, while the police summoned the family members and the municipality to hear the claims of both parties. The heirs of the late Ibrahim Alian have been suffering for several years due to numerous attempts and devious methods of control under various pretexts and excuses, to implement the "Givat Hamotz" settlement plan. During the current year, the occupation confiscated a large area of ??the family's land in the area and paved a road, during which it uprooted dozens of fruit trees and bulldozed the land. Today, it has moved to another part of the land. In a previous report prepared by Ma'an News Agency about the land, the family explained that they exploited Israeli laws that enable them to confiscate and seize the land. In 2010, they "re-divided the Jabal al-Tabalia without referring back, without the knowledge of its owners, and without their consent." The heirs of Hajj Ibrahim Alian own 25 dunams on the site and have all the papers and the land registry to prove this. However, after "dividing the mountain," 7 dunams were removed from the site and replaced with another site, without the family's knowledge or consent. To this day, no new land has been registered in the family's name. Over the past years, the family has gone to various courts to object to the division and confiscation decision, but the objections were rejected. The family has decisions prohibiting any work on the land, but the municipality carries out excavation and road construction work in the area from time to time. Source: Maan News Agency
