Doha: The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB), Rifat Hisarciklioglu, expressed his hope that the 10th session of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee will yield fruitful results to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries. This session, chaired by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is expected to deepen the ties between Qatar and Turkiye. According to Qatar News Agency, the TOBB President emphasized the rapidly developing fraternal and friendly relations between Qatar and Turkiye across various fields. He noted that high-level visits between the nations significantly boost their relations and highlighted the close cooperation and coordination on many regional issues. Hisarciklioglu expressed optimism about the strategic partnership's development, particularly in economic and investment areas, and welcomed the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the two nations. Hisarciklioglu called for increased efforts to raise bilateral trade volumes to meet mutual aspirations, underscoring Turkiye's status as a major industrial hub connecting Europe and Asia. With 94 percent of its exports as industrial products and 65 percent directed to developed countries like the USA and the EU, Turkiye's production quality is evident. Discussing potential areas for cooperation, Hisarciklioglu mentioned the Turkish private sector's eagerness to participate in various projects in Qatar, including those in technology, manufacturing, defense industries, energy, tourism, logistics, transportation, health, and financial services. He also highlighted the importance of the business environment in both countries in stimulating trade and investment, noting Qatar's significant investment in the Turkish economy and Turkish companies' project implementations in Qatar. The TOBB President emphasized collaboration with the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry to strengthen bilateral economic relations through joint events aimed at fostering trade and investment in both countries. He highlighted the potential for cooperation in other nations and called for enhancing partnerships between the business sectors in Qatar and Turkiye by leveraging each country's advantages and increasing investments in their geographical surroundings to integrate into global value chains. Concluding his interview, Rifat Hisarciklioglu mentioned the expected role of the development road project, extending from Basra through Turkiye to Europe, as a regional transportation hub linking Europe and the Arabian Gulf, thereby enhancing regional and international cooperation.
