Minister of Transport, Zuhair Khuzaym, stressed the importance of consolidating relations of cooperation and coordination with the Council of Arab Economic Unity and the qualitative Arab federations associated with it, including the Arab Railway Union.
That came during the meeting Wednesday between Minister Khuzaym and the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, Ambassador Mohammadi Ahmed Al-Ni and the accompanying delegation, at the Ministry’s building.
Khuzaym stressed the need to move forward with development steps and offer investment opportunities and projects in every sector with modern visions, and benefit from the advantages and incentives of the investment law in Syria, which encourages investors and open great prospects for cooperation.
The meeting touched on the efforts exerted by the General Secretariat of the Arab Union of Railways, particularly after Syria took over the task of the secretariat, and the work of the Board of Directors and its General Assembly, after Damascus hosted the Union’s conference yesterday after an 11-year-histus, especially since the Union is based in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Ambassador al-Ni indicated that the Council of Arab Economic Unity was keen to be one of the first Arab institutions to visit Syria after Jeddah summit, with the aim of strengthening cooperation with the relevant authorities in Syria, stressing that Syria’s effective presence in the League of Arab States and its specialized organizations and bodies contributes to strengthening work Common Arab.
