ANKARA: The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today that its forces have killed 53 members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in airstrikes on northern Iraq and Syria. According to Qatar News Agency, the militants were targeted in raids on PKK strongholds in northern Iraq and Syria over the past week. The total number of PKK militants killed since the beginning of this year now stands at 2,664. It's important to note that Turkey regularly conducts airstrikes against PKK militants along its borders with Iraq and Syria, as the group has been involved in attacks against Turkish military, security forces, and civilians both inside the country and on its borders.
