Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will continue to commit genocide against the Palestinian people until Israel is exposed to real international pressure. In a speech during the UN Security Council session on Palestine last night, Fidan criticized the failure of the UN Security Council to stop the brutal Israeli war on Gaza, stressing that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will continue to commit genocide against the Palestinians, due to his impunity. Fidan said: "We are facing a very sharp turn.. and our rules-based global order, which we attach great importance to, has become in a deplorable state," noting that "this erosion becomes irreversible with each passing day." He explained that wisdom could have prevailed to stop this brutal war in Gaza before it spread to the West Bank, Lebanon and beyond, criticizing the international actors who show no reaction at all to take decisive action. Vidan added: "What we must do is very clear, in th e Security Council a resolution that sets out the principles of objection." In this regard, he pointed to the need to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire, implement hostage and prisoner exchanges, Israel withdraw from Gaza, and deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinians who are in dire need of it to survive, without obstacles. Vidan stressed that they realize that Netanyahu "evaded" concluding an agreement in this regard, and that he will be encouraged to continue committing "genocide" due to his impunity, until the international community, especially the Security Council, pressures Israel to stop. He expressed his regret over the failure of the Security Council so far to ensure that Israel implements its resolutions. He pointed out that there is no arms embargo on Israel and no coercive measures against it. Fidan said that the situation is heading in a dangerous direction due to Israel's unlimited aggression and targeting of Lebanon, pointing out that the Israeli intensive bombardment continue s unabated, without distinguishing between civilians and military targets. The Turkish Foreign Minister called on the Security Council to fulfill its primary mission and pave the way for the two-state solution by establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also urged everyone to stop this war and Israeli aggression. Fidan said that the political or individual interests of Netanyahu and his fundamentalist partners should not jeopardize regional stability and the international order. Fidan concluded his speech by calling on the UN Security Council to "work together for a just and lasting peace." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
