The Turkish Intelligence Service announced the killing of a prominent leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party in a security operation it carried out in northern Syria.
Turkish intelligence stated in a media circular today that the leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, Zulfiya Binbir, was in charge of transferring funds to the organization in the Rmelan region in northern Syria and had a nom de guerre of Rojna.
In its media circular, Turkish intelligence indicated that Rojana joined the PKK in 1993, participated in the organization's activities in Syria and Iraq, and took command of the "security forces" (Asayish) in Kobani (Ayn al-Arab).
It also served as the representative of the Women's Protection Units, and was among the economic officials of the YBG/PKK where she received the money transfer and was included by Turkey on the list of wanted terrorists due to her activities and involvement in numerous attacks against security forces in the past.
The Turkish intelligence service was tracking Rojana until it was able to neutralize her in the Rmeilan area in northern Syria./ End
