Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed bilateral ties and the developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war, along with other regional and international issues.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting on Tuesday, the Turkish President emphasized that his country will do everything in its power to maintain NATO’s strength despite internal and external challenges. He noted that Turkiye has intensified its efforts to put an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine and to reach a just and lasting peace between the two nations.
Erdogan highlighted that he had engaged in discussions with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in pursuit of peace. He stressed that Turkiye strongly supports a comprehensive ceasefire and the importance of NATO maintaining neutrality in the conflict.
