Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held today, Monday, discussions with his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, about developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip. Local diplomatic sources said that the two sides discussed in a phone call the developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and ceasefire negotiations. This comes at a time when, on Monday morning, Israel demanded the evacuation of the eastern neighborhoods from the Rafah area to Al-Mawasi area in the west in the Gaza Strip, in conjunction with efforts to reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with the Hamas movement. With the mediation of Egypt and Qatar and the participation of the United States, Israel and Hamas have been conducting faltering indirect negotiations for months, while the Israeli war on Gaza has continued since October 7, 2023.
