Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out a preemptive operation and arrested two suspects wanted under various legal articles south of the capital. A statement by Baghdad Operations Command stated that the 17th Infantry Division and the security forces and agencies attached to it carried out search, inspection and armed reconnaissance operations in villages, countryside and orchards in areas south of the capital, resulting in the arrest of two suspects under various legal articles. He explained that these operations came with the aim of tightening the noose on terrorist elements, drying up their sources and preventing anyone who dares to tamper with the security of the citizen.
