London: UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, called for the need to defend any potential peace agreement in Ukraine, adding that securing peace in Ukraine will require its allies to strengthen the country’s defenses through funding and support.
According to Qatar News Agency, this came during his speech at the virtual meeting of the “coalition of the willing” on the war in Ukraine, with the participation of 25 European leaders, the European Commission, NATO, Ukraine, and Canada.
In his speech, the British Premier stressed that Russian President, Vladimir Putin, would have to come to the negotiating table, adding that any future ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine would require Ukraine’s allies to be ready to defend any agreement.
Starmer said that the recipe for peace is very simple, as it only requires Putin to stop attacks on Ukraine and to agree to a ceasefire, if he were serious about wanting peace.
