The United Nations confirmed the continuation of work with Russia and Ukraine to extend the validity of the Ukrainian grain export deal through the Black Sea.
"We continue to work with the parties, including Russia and Ukraine, to ensure the continuation of the work of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and the Memorandum of Understanding on the export of Russian foodstuffs and fertilizers," Deputy Spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, said at a press conference on Tuesday.
The Spokesman confirmed that the United Nations is in contact with Western countries regarding the implementation of provisions for the export of Russian foodstuffs and fertilizers, adding that "there are a number of matters that are not subject to our supervision, and some of them are related to the concern of various companies about the possibility of conducting transactions."
