University of Doha for Science and Technology Celebrates 2025 Convocation with Diverse Graduates

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) held its 2025 convocation at the Qatar National Convention Center. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including HE Shura Council Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim and HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, alongside officials and parents of the graduates.

According to Qatar News Agency, a total of 323 outstanding students were honored at the ceremony. This week, the university is set to organize three graduation ceremonies for a total of 1,166 graduates from the colleges of Business, Computing and Information Technology, Engineering and Technology, and Health Sciences. Notably, this year’s convocation marked the graduation of the first cohort with a Postgraduate Diploma in Interprofessional Neonatal Intensive Care and the inaugural batch with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management.

UDST President Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi took the opportunity to highlight the institution’s significant achievements, including the launch of new academic programs such as the Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering and Management, developed in collaboration with Qatar Airways, Airbus, and international academic partners. Al Naemi emphasized the academic potential of UDST graduates, asserting that they are well-equipped to face future challenges amid rapid technological and AI advancements.

Representing the graduates, Hamad Al Sharshani expressed pride in being the first Qatari graduate from the Master of Science in Diabetes Care and Education program. He applauded the University’s critical role in preparing distinguished national professionals. The ceremony included a visual presentation of the students’ educational journey and concluded with the distribution of certificates, with graduates donning gowns designed and manufactured by a Qatari fashion house.

To date, UDST has graduated more than 10,000 students, while over 8,500 students from more than 85 nationalities continue their studies in various academic programs. This reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to diversity and excellence.
