Ghada Hamid Habib, Ombudswoman, today received a delegation of US Congress.

She confirmed that this visit comes within the framework of the Office of the Ombudsman’s keenness to enhance cooperation with various parties interested in learning about its role and tasks in Bahrain.

The delegation was briefed on the competencies of the Office of the Ombudsman in relation to the law enforcement agencies and the monitoring of reformation and rehabilitation centers, as well as reviewing professional and legal cooperation between the Office of the Ombudsman and other institutions working in the criminal justice field.

The Ombudswoman answered inquiries of the members of the delegation and affirmed the Office of the Ombudsman's keenness to adhere to the principle of transparency in several forms, including the annual reports, information and statements it publishes through media.
