Key Issues

US National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby announced: "Washington is concerned about the partnership between Iran and Russia and the development that their relations have witnessed recently." Kirby said: "This is something we have warned about for months, and we have said publicly that we are concerned about the potential trend of transferring ballistic missiles and ballistic missile technology and expertise to Russia. We did that, we downgraded the matter, we made it public, and we have been monitoring the situation since then, and now we have seen, in fact, this deal being completed, so we are announcing it publicly." He added: "The most important thing is that Russia will now have additional ballistic missiles to rain down on Ukrainian infrastructure." He continued: "It is a matter of concern, but the greater concern is that the partnership between Iran and Russia is improving. They share technology, tactics and procedures, and they share intelligence." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
