WHO: Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital No Longer Capable of Operating in Any Way

General

Geneva: The World Health Organization (WHO) emphasized Tuesday that the Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital can no longer operate as a medical facility in any way, following a military operation carried out by the Israeli occupation forces recently during which they burned and decimated the hospital's premises with dozens of newfound martyrs. Destroying one of the largest hospitals in Gaza precariously harms the health care system in the strip. The WHO so far reached out to the medical personnel who confirmed that the hospital was no longer capable of operating in anyway, said spokesperson for WHO Dr Margaret Harris. Harris added that the WHO hopes for dispatching a team to the site on a mission to determine what can be done to save the remaining lives of the trapped patients, pointing out that they have been trying to visit the hospital since days ago, but their requests have been rejected. Meanwhile, medical sources reported that the Israeli army has entirely destroyed the hospital's floors at the specialized surge ry facility, and burned the rest of the building, along with the reception and the emergency trauma building. Also, dozens of rooms and the entire medical equipment have been destroyed, including the kidney, maternity, cancer, and burns facilities, as well as mortuary refrigerators, and outpatient clinics building. Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital remained the only medical facility that has been partially operating in the north of the strip, and this was the second time that the Israeli occupation forces broke into the facility since the start of the aggression.
