A group of the most prominent tourism and economic leaders from all over the Middle East region, with a remarkable Iraqi presence, through its distinguished pavilion this year during the opening session of the Arab Travel Market 2023, whose activities began yesterday at the Dubai World Trade Center and will continue until May 4, discussed the needs of the industry adaptive travel to address the climate change crisis and meet existing regulations by implementing new sustainable policies, funds and supports.
The Head of the United Nations Regional Office for Natural Disaster Reduction for Arab Countries, Sujit Mohanty with Walid Nassar, Lebanese Minister of Tourism, and Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Promotion Authority, discussed the crucial role that the tourism industry plays in this process in conjunction with the preparation of The United Arab Emirates to host the Climate Conference of the Parties (COP 28) later this year.
The first day of the exhibition witnessed the organization of 20 sessions, including "Technology... A Tool to Enabling Sustainable Travel", another session entitled "Sustainability in the Travel Industry" and a session "Enhancing Customer Experience through Artificial Intelligence", in addition to the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance's discussion on the importance of protecting sites and livelihoods and the communities in which the hotels are located as part of a session titled "Achieving Net Positive Hospitality".
The 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market is being held as part of the Arabian Travel Week, which takes place from 1-10 May 2023, and is a group of events dedicated to enabling specialists and professionals in this field from all over the world to collaborate and take advantage of market opportunities through exhibitions and conferences, breakfasts, awards, product, launches and networking events.
