Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani agreed to appoint a representative of the Kurdistan region in SOMO in the capacity of Assistant Director-General.
Spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government, Peshwa Hauramani, announced today, Thursday, that the President of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, presented Hamdi Shankali as a representative of the region for the position of assistant director of SOMO.
Hauramani said in a press statement, "According to the agreement concluded between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, with the aim of the SOMO company taking on a federal character and having a representative of the region in the company's management formation, the Prime Minister of the region, Masrour Barzani, appointed Hamdi Elias (Hamdi Shankali), for the position Assistant General Manager of SOMO Company.
He added, "After the approval of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, the Ministry of Oil issued a ministerial order for this purpose, and Hamdi Shankali began his duties in the SOMO company."
