Manama, Dr. Ali Hassan Al Ahmadi, Ambassador of Yemen to Bahrain, affirmed the importance of holding the 33rd Arab Summit in Bahrain, which reflects the kingdom's position and its strong relations with Arab countries, and adherence to a policy of non-interference in domestic affairs and respecting the sovereignty of states. In an interview with Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the ambassador said the Bahrain Summit brings Arab countries together to bolster, which is an important step towards serving the aspirations of the Arab people and enhancing regional security. Dr. Al Ahmadi said that the Palestinian conflict remains one of the most pressing challenges to be addressed at the upcoming Arab Summit. He emphasised the importance of joining efforts to focus on ending the conflict in Gaza and working towards a solution based on the Arab Peace Initiative. The ambassador expressed hope that the summit's outcome would enable Arab solidarity across various fields, and support the Palestinian people in gaining their legitimate rights and establishing an independent state. He highlighted that the summit's agenda will include important topics related to the economy and development, as well as efforts to achieve Arab unity, represented in revitalising intra-trade between Arab countries, and establishing the greater Arab free trade zone. Furthermore, the ambassador highlighted the importance of achieving food security, a pressing global issue, noting that the Arab countries can collectively ensure self-sufficiency in this area due to the large agricultural and fishery capacities available to Arab countries. The ambassador underscored the importance of developing the industrial sector among Arab countries, especially in light of the heavy reliance on oil. Dr. Al Ahmadi concluded by expressing confidence in the summit's results and outcomes, stressing the importance of unity of visions and positions to meet future aspirations and address regional challenges.
