Amman, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, participated in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, held on the sidelines of the High-Level International Forum on Youth, Peace, and Security, and the launch of the Arab Strategy on Youth, Peace, and Security 2023-2028 in Jordan.
The meeting highlighted national priorities for youth, peace, and security, along with the mechanisms for implementing the strategy across member states to empower Arab youth in global peace and security efforts.
During the meeting, Tawfiqi emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to supporting Arab youth, noting the importance of creating opportunities for their active participation in peace and security, which are crucial for sustainable development.
She commended the comprehensive nature of the strategy and its role in positioning Arab youth as key contributors to peace and development, both regionally and globally.
The minister highlighted Bahrain’s National Strategy for Youth Empowe
rment, which follows the ‘5+1’ principles: ensuring that youth feel safe, heard, supported, valued, and trusted.
These principles are intended to instill hope and motivate young people to prioritise development and peace, she added.
The minister also highlighted the collective efforts of Arab nations in developing the strategy, expressing hopes for its successful implementation across the region.
