Northeastern Mali: At least 25 people were killed and 13 others injured in an armed attack in northeastern Mali. A statement from the Malian army on Sunday confirmed the incident, detailing the attack on a military-escorted convoy near the city of Gao.

According to Qatar News Agency, 19 insurgents were also killed during the attack. The ongoing violence in the region has been a persistent issue since 2012, affecting not only Mali but also spreading into neighboring countries such as Burkina Faso and Niger.
