Hosted by the State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, the two-day 5th Gulf narration forum concluded Monday, with the participation of representatives from the GCC General Secretariat, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Kingdom of Morocco. The forum sought to establish the art of narration as one of the main arts in Arab culture in the GCC countries, and to identify the phenomena and trends of the contemporary narration art movement in the participating countries, in addition to deepening the sense of the status of the art of narration and its role in Gulf culture. The forum featured 15 contributions from member states, Jordan, and Morocco, in addition to several seminars and sessions that covered the technical and structural aspects of the art of narration, with the participation of an elite group of writers, critics, and specialized authors. At the conclusion of the forum, Director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Dulaimi, and Director of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities at the GCC Ohood Al Haif honored the participating writers, authors, and narrators. The second and final day of the forum included three dialogue sessions that discussed a number of narration issues. The 5th narration forum concluded with a general intellectual symposium in which a number of writers, academics, authors, and intellectuals with related specializations participated.
