Joint forces launched a security operation on the borders separating the provinces of Diyala and Salah al-Din. A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that joint forces launched a security operation from two axes, with the support of intelligence detachments, in Al-Mita sector between Diyala and Salah al-Din, in search of hideouts for ISIS terrorist cells. He added that the operation aims to end hideouts or dormant cells in an area with complex geographical terrain, secure and search slopes and roads, in addition to supporting the liberated villages within the borders of the provinces of Diyala and Salah al-Din, near Al-Azim Basin, north of Diyala.
