The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed today, Sunday, with the Australian Ambassador to Baghdad, Gillian Miles, the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq and the region, bilateral relations between Iraq and Australia, and developments in the events in Gaza.
Al-Hakim stressed, according to a statement from his office, “the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and ways to invest in the experiences and commonalities between the two countries, and activating the agricultural sector in Iraq,” stressing “the necessity of continuing to support this vital sector and benefiting from the experiences of developed countries in this field, including Australia, in addition to using the best ways to manage water.”
He stressed “preserving stability in Iraq, which serves the stability of the region and the world,” referring to “the components of this stability represented by positive developments in the political, social and security aspects.”
He also stressed
his support for the government in implementing its program to provide services, move the wheel of reconstruction, provide job opportunities, empower and support youth, noting the “necessity of keeping pace with development plans to the level of population growth,” stressing that “Iraq has many promising opportunities; but this requires maintaining stability and transforming it into permanent stability.” Al-Hakim also stressed the necessity of ending the Gaza crisis and stopping the genocide to which the Palestinian people are being subjected, holding “the international community responsible for ending the humanitarian crisis and the consequences of the collapse of the value system when everyone turns a deaf ear to the daily killing and destruction practiced by the Israeli entity against the Palestinians.”
