Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi affirmed the support of the legislative authority in Iraq for the government's efforts to enhance cooperation and resolve outstanding issues with Kuwait.
Al-Halbousi's office said in a statement: "Al-Halbousi met today with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah."
The meeting discussed relations between the two brotherly countries and cooperation in all fields, including economy and investment.
He also discussed activating parliamentary diplomacy and friendship committees and their role in consolidating cooperation between the two countries, as well as coordinating positions in Arab, regional and international forums.
During the meeting, the Speaker of Parliament affirmed the support of the legislative authority in Iraq for the government's efforts to enhance cooperation and resolve outstanding issues with Kuwait for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed his country's support for Iraq, and the desire to consolidate relations and increase the level of cooperation in various fields, conveying the greetings of the Kuwaiti leadership to Al-Halbousi and its wishes for Iraq stability and prosperity, noting that the talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were fruitful and contribute to enhancing prospects for joint action.
