Al-Kadhimi resorts to the judiciary: slanders and lies affected us in the past days

The office of former Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi announced resorting to the judiciary after statements affected him in recent days. A statement issued by Al-Kadhimi's office said: We consider adhering to freedom of expression and opinion to be a firm belief that the existence of opposing opinions preserves the principles of democratic work, which is based on the plurality of opinions under the roof of the law and the constitution, in service of the public interest and the state in which we believe and work for. It added, over the past few days, we have become aware of the extent of the slander and lies that affected Al-Kadhimi's person and his approach, after the criticism exceeded the limits of political and media work, indicating that the goal of these statements issued has become clear, and a cheap attempt to attract attention, and reflects a hollowness in the approaches and a search for stardom here and there. It added, 'We reaffirm that these slanders and lies reflect the value system of t heir authors, and it is unfortunate that some Iraqis have descended to this level of moral and ethical decadence in the coming days, our legal team will resort to following the legal frameworks and preserving our rights guaranteed by the law and the Constitution, because of our belief in the judicial institution and its role in this.
