In a friendly encounter at Marbella Stadium in the Spanish city of Malaga, Al-Sadd secured a 3-2 victory over South Africa's Orlando Pirates. This match is part of Al-Sadd's rigorous preparation for the upcoming season. Ecuadorian striker Gonzalo Plata was the star of the match, scoring twice, while Hashem Ali added another goal to secure the win for Al-Sadd. The team showcased their offensive prowess, continuing their strong form in pre-season. Earlier in their preparatory camp, Al-Sadd delivered an emphatic 8-0 victory against Manchester 62 from Gibraltar. They are set to face Spanish sides Las Palmas and Almeria in their next friendly matches on July 23 and 28, respectively. Reigning champions of both the Qatari League and Amir's Cup, Al-Sadd have bolstered their squad by signing Spanish striker Rafa Mujica on a four-year contract from Portuguese club Arouca.
