Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed Iraq's keenness to establish an integrated economic relationship with Italy, while receiving an invitation to visit it. The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement: "Al-Sudani received Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in its seventy-ninth session. During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields were discussed, in a way that enhances the partnership and achieves mutual benefit between them." The Prime Minister stressed Iraq's keenness to establish an integrated economic relationship and constructive partnership with Italy, and that the government is working to advance bilateral relations in all sectors, in order to address the problems inherited from the previous era. For her part, Meloni extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Italy, stressing her aspiration for a deep and st rategic partnership with Iraq in all fields, especially political, economic, financial, security and technological, pointing to Italy's support for Iraq over the past twenty years, especially in its war against ISIS, and that she looks forward to fruitful cooperation and a historic transition in bilateral relations.
