Arab Negotiations Group on Climate Change Holds Coordination Meeting

The Department of Environment and Meteorology Affairs (Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs) organized the 35th coordination meeting of the Arab Negotiations Group on Climate Change.

Held in the headquarters of the Arab League from Sunday to Tuesday, the meeting covered preparations for Arab participation in the second session of the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW) 2023, set to be held in Riyadh from October 8 to 12.

Preparations for the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) and mobilizing support for Arab positions on climate action were also covered in the meeting.

Several topics that would be discussed at the conference were highlighted including mitigation, adaptation, financing, losses, damages and response measures, as well as COP27's outcomes and coordination with organizations concerned with climate change.
