The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its April 2024 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on Trade Balance, Imports, national origin Exports and Re-exports. As per the report, the value of non-oil imports has decreased by 8%, reaching BD481 million in April 2024 in comparison with BD523 million for the same month in 2023. The top 10 countries for imports recorded 68% of the total value of imports. According to the report, Brazil ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD63 million (13.1%), followed by China with BD61 million (12.7%) and Australia with 37 million (8%). Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates were recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD80 million (17%), followed by Other Aluminum Oxide with BD33 million (7%) and Parts for Aircraft Engins being the third with BD22 million (5%). On the other hand, the total value of non-oil exports (National Origin) decreased by 9% to reach BD277 million during April 2024, comp ared to BD303 million for the same month in 2023. The top 10 countries in exports (National Origin) accounted for 75% of the exports (National Origin) value. Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for then non-oil exports (National Origin) with BD76 million (27%). The United Arab Emirate (UAE) was second with BD30 million (11%) and the United States of America (US) was third with BD26 million (9%). Unwrought Aluminum Alloys recorded as the top products exported in April 2024 with BD74 million (27%), followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed with a value of BD60 million (22%) and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed with BD12 million (4%). The total value of non-oil Re-exports increased by 16% to reach BD78 million during April 2024, compared to BD67 million for same month in 2023. The top 10 countries in Re-exports accounted for 93% of the re-exported value. Jordan ranked first with BD17 million (22%) followed by The United Arab Emirate with BD14 million (18%) and France with BD11 million (14%). A s per the report, Turbo-Jets was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD40 million (51%), followed by Smartphones BD2.4 million (3.1%), and Gold Ingots came third with BD2.1 million (2.7%). As for the Trade Balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit recorded BD126 million dinars in April 2024 compared to a deficit of BD152 million dinars in April 2023.
