New York, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, met with Dennis Francis, President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The two sides reviewed ways to enhance cooperation in the youth sector and discussed proposals aimed at serving the youth. The minister commended the partnership between the ministry and the United Nations (UN) in implementing the King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award to achieve sustainable development goals and its positive results, including the participation of several young people in the award. She highlighted the continuous cooperation of the ministry and the UN for the international award to achieve its goals on a global scale. Tawfiqi emphasised Bahrain's commitment to strengthen cooperation with the UNGA to promote the role of the youth in achieving sustainable development goals. The UNGA President praised the advanced level of cooperation between Bahrain and the UN in the youth sector, affirming the organisation's commitment to support ing Bahraini competencies that will enable youth to participate in achieving sustainable development goals.
