According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry highlighted that the event is part of scientific symposia the Centre holds to raise awareness of endowments issues, as well as endowment provisions in terms of Islamic Sharia.
Head of the Endowment Studies Centre at the General Administration of Awqaf, Dr Khalid Abdullah Al Awn, said the event is a subsequent step following the publication of the book, to engage with its author, Dr. Aisha bint Abdullah Al Mousa, in brainstorming the key themes addressed in the book, particularly in the context of the continuous renewal and development of financial transactions.
Dr. Al Awn added that the symposium highlights alternative Sharia-compliant financing structures to traditional loans, including Murabaha to the order of purchase, Islamic tawarruq, diminishing partnership, and leasing with the option to own, in addition to a range of issues related to managing the risks of Sharia non-compliant loans.
